“The Girl from Plainville” is a pretty decent series based on a real case. The series starts off strong with intrigue but quickly starts to feel repetitive and dragged out. I think Elle Fanning does a great job in the main role but the show mostly just starts spinning its wheels and I feel like it could have been told in much fewer episodes or even as a movie. Overall, it doesn’t always work as a miniseries, but it has good performances and tells the story in an acceptable way.
