“A Way Out” is a very entertaining story that not only encourages cooperative gameplay but requires it. I had a blast inviting one of my friends over to play this game with me. The story feels pretty by the numbers but is consistently engaging with its diverse gameplay. The last act of the game is where it genuinely surprised me and it changes everything. The story hits an emotional chord and is a lot of fun to play through. I felt it was a bit short and some of the sequences weren’t as good as they could have been, but it was a blast to work as a team with my friend and experience this story with someone else. Overall it is an innovative story-based game that I definitely am glad I checked out.
