I wasn’t all that surprised when I heard “Mr. Iglesias” was canceled by Netflix. Not because it’s a bad show, just because this sort of sitcom format doesn’t necessarily work as well as it used to in the past. I still thought the show was cute and funny and enjoyed it for what it was. It is easy to binge-watch and if you like Gabriel Iglesias, it is enjoyable enough. I think it successfully hits a sweet spot where older kids could probably watch it with their family members and there isn’t much that would be considered particularly offensive. Overall, it is not a must-watch series, but it’s a light and fun show that reminded me a bit of the shows I grew up watching.
