“Glee” is a show that pretty much everyone has probably heard of. After watching it I would say that I enjoyed for the most part, despite some inconsistency in quality over its six seasons. I consider myself a fan of musicals, and throughout the series, the music was usually one of the highlights in this series. I think the show has an outstanding first season and a great second and third. The original characters are by far the most interesting, which is why the first three seasons stand out the most and the fourth was the weakest. The fourth season introduces a batch of characters that just took a bit of adjusting to and were easier to enjoy watching in the fifth season. Nonetheless, the show does like to explore a lot of different issues, which is commendable, even when it feels very forced here and there. The second half of the series did test my patience at times but the music stayed fun and there were still plenty of great episodes scattered throughout. Most importantly, the series closes all of the main arcs well and I felt plenty invested when I watched the sweet series finale. Overall, this is a show that is definitely very cheesy at times, but it’s a lot of fun, especially for musical fans. If you need something light to watch, I would recommend this series, or at the very least the first few seasons.
