Life is Strange 2

Over the last few years, I have become a huge fan of story-based games that involve decision making in their storytelling. I was absolutely dazzled by the first “Life is Strange” and loved it so much, that I will essentially play anything from this franchise. This sequel is completely different from the first, and it’s important to know that going in. The character you play has no sort of special power which already makes it monumentally different than the first. As a result, sometimes the gameplay is mundane at times. However, I think the story carries a lot of dramatic and emotional weight that kept me more than engaged. Every episode has an explosive finale that always made me want to keep playing. I also thought the game presented some solid choice moments that were genuinely tough at times. One of the biggest surprises about this game is how it tackles many political and social issues. I found it to be pretty bold and I think it makes it a more thought-provoking and memorable experience than most games out there. Overall, it is very different from the first game, and it is not quite as good, but it is still a very well-told story that is worth experiencing.

4.5/5 STARS
