Rockstar’s latest, “Red Dead Redemption II” is a masterful game that showcases an engrossing story and a thrillingly alive open world. I enjoyed every second of the main story in this game. Unlike other games from this studio, this game had essentially no frustrating missions and everything felt reasonably challenging. This is one of the few games that I feel is worth the full $60. I have always been a fan of the unique experiences Rockstar games provides but this game had something that I didn’t expect, which is a layered story. The story is not satirical, but instead, it feels like a heavily dramatic and truly intense Western. The characters are complex and almost every mission is exceptionally entertaining. The story may be a prequel but it adds so much depth to this franchise. This game is a masterpiece that provides both engaging gameplay and an unforgettable story. 2018 was an outstanding year for video games, and somehow, this game stands out, and may even be the year’s best.
