The Mind of Jake Paul

Shane Dawson’s newest documentary series, “The Mind of Jake Paul” is more fascinating than I could have imagined. I found myself binging this series in a very short amount of time because it managed to make me interested in a public figure that I normally kind of just brush off and don’t really care about. The documentary shows a different side of Jake Paul and in no way tries to forgive everything he’s done, but instead analyzes how he is is a byproduct of the environment he was raised in. I do think the series shifts focus halfway through and it can be a bit jarring, but as a whole, it kept my interest and really opened my eyes. Overall, it is a well-made documentary about YouTube culture in 2018 that is worth checking out.

4/5 STARS
